#"Va*******!"
All'interno troverete infatti una scrittura manuale a penna.

A NEW YORK TIMES Bestseller!
The complete critically acclaimed and best-selling tale is now available in one sensational volume.
BATMAN HUSH is a thrilling mystery of action, intrigue and deception penned by Jeph Loeb (BATMAN THE LONG HALLOWEEN) and illustrated by comics superstar Jim Lee (ALL STAR BATMAN & ROBIN, THE BOY WONDER). Batman sets out to discover the identity of a mysterious mastermind using the Joker, Riddler, Ra's al Ghul and the Dark Knight's other enemies--and allies--as pawns in a plan to wreak havoc.
This volume collects BATMAN #609-619 as well as the 6-page segment from WIZARD #0 and a 2-page origin story.
PDF Batman The Complete Hush Batman 19402011 eBook Jeph Loeb Jim Lee
Jim Lee's Batman is tough and heroic looking, intimidating yet not outrageous (as far as dressing up as a bat can be). Each villain, with the possible exception of Joker, looks terrific. I only single out Joker, because it seems as if Lee draws him in several styles (particularly his face), and looks as if his features change. Of course, Joker still looks insane and maniacal, just a little distracting however. Hush is some of Lee's best work, no doubt helped by the excellent colors and inks. The reader can tell that effort and thought was put into the art. Some feel that this is among Jim Lee's best work, and I can certainly understand why.
In the end, there really is no good reason not to purchase this book. While perhaps not as seminal as the Dark Knight Returns, I enjoy rereading this piece much more. It is satisfying, a good conclusion with just enough hint of a cliff hanger to feel eager to read more. When many comic book readers talk about missing the older days of comics, this is one of those works that makes certain contemporary titles shrink by comparison."

It's a great idea to release a penciled version of graphic novel once in a while.
Batman Hush Unwrapped Deluxe is basically the same book as Batman Hush with dialogue and all, except everything is in pencils. The only coloured bits are the sound effects and Batman's internal narration.
Reading the book in just pencils is quite a different experience. It's basically like looking at the final draft of the book before the go ahead for inking. If you're marveled by Jim Lee's art in the coloured edition, you'll be blown away by this edition - if you're a comic artist maybe your brain will explode with awe.
Every page is filled with detailed pencil work, deserving a slow peruse. The amazing pencil hatches and shading are everywhere, on the characters, the backgrounds. After reading the book, you'll probably get a new sense of appreciation for comic artists and the art of making comics. This book is definitely a collectors' edition for fans.
As for the story, the storytelling is good and well paced, there are some surprises as Batman tried to uncover who this Hush villain is. The characters are well defined and believable. The sequences with Catwoman are fantastic - I love how Catwoman and Batman interacts.
However, I've a problem with the ending. Even though the villain was revealed in the end, the motivation for going against Batman isn't, or is too weak for me to notice. Just because you're a bad guy and he's Batman means you've to go against him? So the story is great for me until the ending which I felt could be better.
(There are more pictures of the book on my blog. Just visit my profile for the link.)
Hush is probably best remembered for bringing together so many disparate members of the Bat Family and the Batman Rogues Gallery into one massive plotline. Loeb does a tremendous job of connecting all the various characters, though the finale reveal remains one of the weaker ones I've seen. Hush is built around the surfacing of the titular villain a man in a trench coat, covered in bandages who seems to know Bruce Wayne's secret identity and has managed to unite his most famous foes against him. At the same time as Bruce's run in with Hush, he also manages to take the next step his oft-simmering romantic relationship with Selena Kyle (Catwoman). Hush is a terrific and fun story, but the twist ending revelation of Hush's true identity is a bit of a dud. A) you can see it coming from a ways off and B) the villain's motivations aren't properly explored here due to the nature of keeping their identity a secret throughout the book. Thankfully, the later sequel book Heart of Hush manages to rectify the villain problems. Still, Hush has numerous iconic sequences from Batman's fight with a Poison Ivy-dominated Superman to him finally revealing his secret identity to Catwoman.
Relative to the amount of material that’s out there, I’m a noob to the world of the Caped Crusader, but even so, I suspect this fantastic story is a standout no matter how many Batman comics you’ve read. The writing, the art, the character arcs… This is as much a noir detective tale as it is an action-packed superhero adventure. For too long I ignored most mainstream superhero comics, not knowing where to jump in or what about them might compel me. Now that I happen to have a fabulous guide to the world of Gotham, I’m loving my time there and so excited by how much there is to explore.

Tim Cook The Genius Who Took Apple to the Next Level Leander Kahney 9780525537601 Books Reviews
I had eagerly anticipated this book. Tim Cook has been the CEO of one of the world’s most valuable companies for almost nine years. Yet, ironically, this is the first detailed attempt in book form to closely examine the man’s background leading up to his assuming control after Steve Jobs’ death in 2011 and the influence that he has had in re-shaping the culture of Apple Inc. while bringing the company’s market capitalization to a staggering trillion dollars.
Kahney opens with a quick introduction entitled “Killing It†which summarizes the industry dominance that Apple currently enjoys and makes it clear that Cook gets a lion’s share of the credit. He goes on to introduce the six core values that Cook has ingrained in the company’s strategy accessibility; education; environment; inclusion and diversity; privacy and security; and supplier responsibility. These lay the groundwork for very detailed discussion in the second half of the book of Cook’s passion for coupling good strategy with good values and his success in achieving it.
The first chapter describes in some detail the interesting specifics of the leadership handover from Steve Jobs to Tim Cook that culminated in 2011. Kahney goes on to describe the reservations that many pundits had regarding his ability to sustain Apple’s momentum. In retrospect, those many who predicted imminent failure are now a little hard to be found.
The next few chapters highlight Cook’s early life and education near Mobile, Alabama, his matriculation at Auburn culminating in a BS in Industrial Engineering, and his pre-Apple stints at IBM, Intelligent Electronics, and Compaq. Cook spent the first twelve years of his career at IBM. I had the good fortune to work closely with Tim during much of that time, which was characterized by high volume manufacturing at IBM’s Research Triangle Park, NC facility and most notably the bringing of the IBM Personal Computer Company and the manufacture of its exciting array of products to the site. Those were heady times for all of us lucky enough to be involved. Cook was every bit the leader that Kahney describes in the book. Nobody outworked Tim Cook. His work was his life, and apparently still is. It was also telling that two of his current right hand men at Apple, Jeff Williams (Apple’s current COO) and Bill Frederick, were part of our IBM team.
Kahney proceeds to spend the remaining three quarters of the book describing Cook’s hiring out of Compaq by Steve Jobs, his increasingly significant roles in managing operations at Apple, his appointment as COO, his serving as interim CEO during two of Jobs’ illnesses and convalescences, his 2011 elevation to CEO, and his subsequent seven years in leading Apple to the pinnacle of Silicon Valley and the tech industry.
Kahney does a good job describing the facts surrounding the numerous hardware and software launches for iPhone, iPad, iMac, MacBook, Mac Pro, Apple Watch, OSX, iOS, Apple Music, etc during those years as well as the role that Cook had in ensuring their success. He also goes into interesting detail regarding the planning and realization of the new Apple Park headquarters.
Kahney fairly criticizes Cook and his team for the premature launch of Apple Maps and particularly the ephemeral, on-again / off-again status of Project Titan, for the much rumored self-driving Apple Car. But I believe that he did not go far enough. Apple is now at a significant crossroads. Continued growth is only going to be ensured by entrances into entire new product offerings, particularly in the service sector. I believe that Kahney missed a key set of discussion points regarding Cook’s potential for keeping Apple on its current growth track. The last decade has been great, and it has been led primarily by hardware, much of it originally conceived in the Jobs era. Okay, now what?
Kahney does a particularly good job in describing the facts surrounding the government’s demand for Apple to assist with the decryption of the San Bernardino assailant’s iPhone and Cook’s refusal to budge on Apple’s commitment to privacy. In the end, Cook and Apple were vindicated by the press and court of public opinion.
He spends roughly a quarter of the book going into quite a bit of detail regarding Cook’s commitment to the environment and diversity. In having known and worked with Tim, I do not doubt his commitment to these values and his leadership in ingraining them in Apple’s culture, but I still felt that I was reading a series of Apple press releases as I waded through this significant portion of the book.
In summary, the book is a very worthwhile read and you should come away with a great deal of respect for Tim Cook and what he has achieved. Kahney tends to cheerleading throughout much of the book in making his case, but I do not quarrel with his conclusions. I only wonder now what is next for Cook. As he is only fifty-nine years old, would there not be some potential for him to enter politics? Time will tell. But I know this. He has much to offer as a visionary and leader. As I am a longtime conservative Republican, I am not at all reluctant to say that I would certainly give him a shot.
I pre-purchased this book as soon as it was announced. I have wanted to learn more about Tim Cook for many years. It’s a quick read, I finished it in one sitting. The first third of the book covers Tim’s early life and career up until he becomes the acting CEO at Apple. I found this part of the book to be extremely interesting. It provided and insight into the man, his motivations, and the processes that he learned, brought to Apple, and perfected, and that truly turned Apple into the juggernaut that it is today. I felt the remaining two thirds of the book was a bland retelling of publicly available facts and figures and published stories. I’m sure it is very difficult to get on the record interviews regarding Tim’s actions since he is still at Apple though.
Great book was a great history of Apple and all Mr. Cook has added. He has done a great job and how he keeps all departments in order is quit un real. Enjoyed the book.
I read half of the book. There are very specific information not available anywhere.
Imagine if Elon Musk could hire a guy that made sure each of his new cars could be sold the day following their announcement, in all markets, at the right quality with the exact customer requested options. This is who Steve Jobs managed to hire with Tim Cook. Since this book is the first on the subject there is no better option, unfortunately. The author does a good job of combing existing books, publications and videos to construct a decent retrospective timeline but there is no investigation to speak of. Being blessed by Apple PR the author could not stray from the official Apple history. The research work falls short of unearthing anything new and many questions remain unanswered. What happened when the Irish, Singapore and California plants were stopped? What did Apple lose in the outsourcing process? How did Foxconn the Taiwanese company manage the build its mammoth operation in Mainland China despite the political tensions? The author reminds us of the various iPhone novelties with no hint of what Tim Cook may or may not have done in the process. With the iPhone X there is nothing outlining his role. He also fails to tell what led him to distribute dividends despite Steve jobs history of not doing it. There is probably a signed agreement preventing Scott Forstall to give his version of the story but why not ask Tony Fadell and other former Apple employees? And some Chinese executives? Tim Cook’s work and mark is very very impressive. However this book leaves a lot of room for a more thorough investigation.
Don't buy it. All this author has done is take public information about Cook and Apple and organized it. There is little or no information that provides insight about the person.
Pretty interesting account of a major CEO. Gives me a big respect for him. Thanks Tim and Apple for putting me the consumer first instead of anyone wanting to sell my info for profit
After reading the sinopsis, this book looks promising. From a photographer point of view, the imagery is stunning. It feels as if Tim looked for that natural effect, which resembles his transparency in not wanting to cover anything up and being remembered for who he is. Can’t wait to finish reading the book, I’m hooked!

The Elite Road Warrior Six Energy Habits to Master the Business Travel Life eBook Bryan Paul Buckley Reviews
First off my favorite part of the whole book is how it tells you how long it will take you to read each chapter. Man I wish every book did this! It is so helpful when you only have twenty minutes and you are particular about getting through a complete chapter before you stop. I also love the bullet points and action items at the end to help recap.
Overall it was a fantastic read. Bryan's humor is kind of like a 7th grade boy - which cracks me up and you can tell he doesn't take himself too seriously. As a female I felt like most of the stories were geared towards men with lots of sports analogies. But I also understand that the vast majority of road warriors percent wise is men - so I get it.
The concepts overall are basic - things we all should know and should be doing but years on the road kind of saps the "know how's" out of your brain and in seeps the "easy way out". This is a great reminder of the ways you can CHOOSE to win on the road. If you implement these strategies in the book you will kill it in every area of your life.
Quick and easy read that any business traveler would find entertaining and helpful. 5 stars from me.
If you travel for a living, The Elite Road Warrior is your way back to health, higher levels of energy and productivity.
I found this book to be an easy read. It's presented in steps to guide the road weary traveler to incrementally improve their health, relationships with their family and up their work game while taking on the challenges of living on the road.
There's simple, effective, realistic guidance in every chapter. I really liked how each section tells you how long it will take to read, which is pretty smart, so even the busiest traveler can read gauge how much time they have to read in between airports, meetings and client events.
After reading this book I realize there really are No More Excuses to not become an Elite Road Warrior. Read this book and start implementing today. Your health, your family and your career will thank you.
Loved the book. As a frequent traveler who does not fare well on the road, Bryan provided me with some great suggestions for both physical and mental principles to being more healthy on the road.
My favorite suggestion is to “stay moving†throughout the day, and not wait for a workout that may never happen. Take the stairs, take walks, and take mental breaks on a regular basis so that you can bank benefits incrementally.
I’m at a conference as I write this. I’m a big guy (6’2†290 lbs) who’s recovering from 2 Achilles surgeries and looking to right-size. Yesterday, following the books suggestion, I climbed the stairs of my 8-story hotel 9 times throughout the day for a total of 72 stairs and 1,100 calories burned (at my weight). Combining that with his suggestions for healthy eating and drinking lots of water, I feel like I had a chance to put the books principles to work fairly quickly.
All of us know that the key to success will be to continue this beyond the first week, and Bryan has some good suggestions for that as well. Thanks Bryan, and 5-stars from me.
Bryan Buckley has definitely "been there". HIs thoughts and ideas regarding how to be your best while traveling is inspiring, doable, and it works! I have been a road warrior for 39 years and I can honestly say, with all of the experience I have, both good and not so good, that if you follow Brian's lead you will be amazed at the results. Now YOU can be the one with the energy, stamina, and attitude to have your "best trip" every time, not losing touch with those you care most about, and arrive home feeling good physically and mentally, and not miss a beat.
I spent 80 of 100 days on the road at the end of 2018 and connect deeply with the challenges and solutions Bryan Buckley discusses in The Elite Road Warrior. But truth be told, being in the office when not traveling can be just as exhausting. Either way, this book will benefit the high performer.
Be warned you will not be able to casually skim this book without feeling compelled to act.
Bryan makes implementation easy and practical. You won’t be overwhelmed with things that you could never do. And that’s what I appreciate most about The Elite Road Warrior anybody can quickly improve their energy levels simply by focusing on their energy habits each and every day, whether at home or on the road.
As someone who flies 100 or more flights a year, I know the stress of travel and how the ‘fun’ begins to wear on you. Bryan ‘s ideas are well thought out and extremely helpful, and he backs them up with fun quotes and statistics. Taking care of yourself doesn’t need to be hard, no matter how much you travel, and the easy to follow checklists and strategies in this book are presented in a fun and easy to follow manner. These ideas relevant for the most casual or hardened business traveler. Take the ideas in this book seriously and your life will be better for it.
One thing I would like to see discussed is meditation - it has been extremely transformative for me and would be a great addition to anyone’s routine at home or on the road.
For years I burned the candle at both ends and in the back of my mind worried it would eventually catch up with me. This book manages to interweave the key mental and physical energy principles behind having both ‘hustle AND health’ with simple, manageable habits anyone can start doing today.
The author’s enthusiasm makes it very easy and enjoyable to both read and incorporate in a rush rush world.
A must read for anyone who’s driven to succeed and doesn’t want to sacrifice their health and happiness.
Bryan Paul Buckley gives advice, tips, and a plan you can use to stay fit, connected, and mentally on track if you spend time on the road. When I spend time traveling, it gets difficult to keep my fitness and family ahead of travel. Bryan has been there and shares his wisdom so we can all be warriors on the road. If you spend time traveling for business, this book is for you.

A distinctly Indigenous form of landscape representation is emerging in the creations of contemporary Indigenous artists from North America. For centuries, landscape painting in European art typically used representational strategies such as single-point perspective to lure viewers―and settlers―into the territories of the old and new worlds. In the twentieth century, abstract expressionism transformed painting to encompass something beyond the visual world, and later, minimalism and the Land Art movement broadened the genre of landscape art to include sculptural forms and site-specific installations.
In Shifting Grounds, art historian Kate Morris argues that Indigenous artists are expanding, reconceptualizing, and remaking the forms of the genre still further, expressing Indigenous attitudes toward land and belonging even as they draw upon mainstream art practices. The resulting works are rarely if ever primarily visual representations, but instead evoke all five senses from the overt sensuality of Kay WalkingStick's tactile paintings to the eerie soundscapes of Alan Michelson's videos and Postcommodity's installations to the immersive environments of Kent Monkman's dioramas, this landscape art resonates with a fully embodied and embedded subjectivity.
In the works of these and many other Native artists, Shifting Grounds explores themes of presence and absence, connection and dislocation, survival and vulnerability, memory and commemoration, and power and resistance, illuminating the artists' sustained engagement not only with land and landscape but also with the history of representation itself.

Cracking the SAT Subject Test in Chemistry 16th Edition Everything You Need to Help Score a Perfect 800 College Test Preparation The Princeton Review Books Reviews
Please by Barron's instead. 1) This book DOES NOT cover everything you need to know. For example, you should know Graham's Law of Effusion (that showed up on like every single practice test I took as well as the real test), which this book doesn't cover. 2) The practice tests (minus the last one) were WAY TOO EASY. The actual test was like 10x harder. I finished the practice tests with like 15-20 min to spare but on the actual test I basically ran out of time 3) Barron's does over prepare you, but you can tell what info you need and you don't need to know on Barron's. Tbh, you should probably know everything on Princeton and then some, so I think purchasing both will be a good idea.
Some other things you should know if you're planning on taking SAT Chemistry with just this book How to read a manometer How to find the molar mass of a gas How to predict products with only reactants given How to detect the presence of different gases/solids - i.e., the splint test for oxygen Colors of the transition metals in solution
(There's probably more that you need to know, but these are the only ones I can think of off of the top of my head)
PROS 1. The section by section explanations are clear and well done. 2. Besides a small caveat (mentioned below) I think that the practice tests are probably the best/ most on-the-ball in terms of what's actually on the SAT II chemistry test itself.
CONS 1. Only has three full-length practice tests (compared to say, the Barron's, which has four, and is of similar quality) 2. Sometimes veers heavily into trivia (a whole section of the practice test was on biology stuff like nucleic acids, proteins etc which is very rare for the actual test itself... what is the third most abundant gas in the atmosphere when I can see them *maybe* asking the first or second on the actual SAT II) 3. This is minor, but if you go through the whole book, the explanations will start to get irritating as the number of times they say "divide and conquer" to explain the true/false/correct explanation thing will get tiresome
In terms of the SAT II Chemistry options out there a) Kaplan is WAY too easy in terms of the test bank/practice tests and, in my opinion, good for foundations review and/or confidence boosting b) the Official College Board one is, of course, great, but only gives you ONE practice test for Chemistry and really no subject review c) It's a toss up between Princeton and Barron's in terms of which is the best. I feel like the Barron's has questions that are almost a little too hard (or emphasize memorizing things that aren't as commonly tested, like heat of fusion constants that aren't provided), but Barron's gives you four practice tests whereas Princeton gives you three. They both have diagnostic tests and decent topic by topic review... so it comes down to whether you'd rather have one extra practice test (Barron's) or are used to the Princeton method (if you've bought other ones).
** You can find additional review questions online for free via sparknotes, but they have some errors, and there are also like 20 free questions provided by College Board online...
Really good textbook. All the topics on the actual test are well explained. The book is very organized and easy to understand. However, there are not many practice tests in this textbook, so I would recommend buying this alongside Barron's books as well, as they provide many practice tests in their textbooks. Nonetheless, Barron's is definitely the textbook I would recommend to you if you are looking to prepare for the SAT Chemistry Test. I have yet to get my test results back, but I can assure you that this textbook helped me to feel more confident and prepared for the actual test.
This was such a helpful tool in learning all of the material that I needed to learn. I took a preliminary test before studying anything and scored a 540. After I went through this book and studied all of the material I took the actual test I scored a 740. Not a perfect score I know but I was learning all the content that my high school course left out- which was a lot. Very pleased, would recommend. Practice tests seemed to represent the actual test very well.
This book really annoyed me. The explanations in it are well organized and very comprehensive and that's great. But it lacks some of the material. As an international student who had to make up for some holes because our education systems teach different things in biology, I relied on this book, only to later find out I missed some vital concepts that weren't in it. I got a 740, but part of it was because of my previous knowledge. Bottom line you can do well enough with this book; I definitely find the Barron's more boring and harder to read; but if you want to be as ready as you can for the test, either ditch this one or combine it with learning from the Barron's.
Book represents the actual test very well. Taught me the right things and asked the questions in the right way.
I bought Barron’s too and it had some of the same information but lacked focus or depth in the right spots.
I used this book in combination with Barron’s Chemistry. The two books complement each other very well. Sometimes Barron’s gives “whats†and the Princeton gives “whys†, and vice versa. If both books are conscientiously covered and integrated , you will have a very strong framework bound for high 700s-800 on the actual exam.
I love this product, so worth it , for the price you paid you will be satisfied and i highly recommend this to anyone

The Anatomy of Peace Expanded Second Edition Resolving the Heart of Conflict Audible Audio Edition The Arbinger Institute Oliver Wyman Inc Blackstone Audio Books Reviews
This is one of the best books I have ever read. Some books I read are entertaining, some are inspiring, some are educational, and some are life changing. This book has been life changing for me. I have purchased several copies that I have given as Christmas presents and plan to give some as wedding gifts as well.
Some of my favorite quotes are
"We can treat our children fairly but if our hearts are warring toward them while we’re doing it, they won’t think they’re being treated fairly at all....As important as behavior is most problems at home, at work, and in the world are not failures of strategy but failures of way of being."
"We first need to find our way out of the internal wars that are poisoning our thoughts, feelings, and attitudes toward others. If we can’t put an end to the violence within us, there is no hope for putting an end to the violence without."
"And we have seen how one warring heart invites more "object seeing" and warring in others."...."No one can force a warring heart upon us. When our hearts go to war, we ourselves have chosen it."
"Because when I betray myself I create within myself a new need-a need that causes me to see others accusingly, a need that causes me to care about something other than truth and solutions, and a need that invites others to do the same in response."
"As painful as it is to receive contempt from another, it is more debilitating by far to be filled with contempt for another."
"A heart at war needs enemies to justify its warring. It needs enemies and mistreatment more than it wants peace."
"Whenever we need to be justified, anything that will give us justification will immediately take on exaggerated importance in our life. Self betrayal corrupts everything-even the value we place on things."
"the more sure I am that I’m right, the more likely I will actually be mistaken. My need to be right makes it more likely that I will be wrong! Likewise, the more sure I am that I am mistreated, the more likely I am to miss ways that I am mistreating others myself."
"Difficult people are nevertheless people, and it always remains in my power to see them that way."
"Everyone I hated was always with me, even when I was alone. They had to be, for I had to remember what and why I hated in order to remind myself to stay away from them."
"It isn’t so much what you did as what you invited."
"Because most who are trying to put an end to injustice only think of the injustices they believe they themselves have suffered. Which means that they are concerned not really with injustice but with themselves. They hide their focus on themselves behind the righteousness of their outward cause."
"It is not the sense of what to do but the desire to do it that’s at issue...When we have recovered those sensibilities towards others, we must act on them."
"You have the biggest influence in your children’s lives, so if we want to be a positive influence with your children we better have strong relationships with you."
"If we don’t get our hearts right, our strategies won’t matter. Once we get our hearts right, however, outward strategies matter a lot."
"Our passions, beliefs, and needs do not divide but unite it is by virtue of our own passions, beliefs, and needs that we can see and understand others’. If we have beliefs we cherish, then we know how important others’ beliefs must be to them."
I can't say enough about this book. I am a clergyperson and it was recommended by our Bishop. Somewhat reluctantly, I decided to read what I anticipated would be a boring book. I was very pleasantly surprised. The book is set in a two day seminar for parents whose "Problem" children are enrolled in a behavior modification program. That setting and the dialogue as people processed the material kept me interested initially. As I got into it more, I no longer needed that construct. I recommended the book to our book club and our members were unanimous in their praise of the book. When we came together we were all eager to share what we had learned and how we could see it applying in our lives. We decided that it would be great if we could engage more of our congregation in discussion of this book over a longer period of time. I purchased the kindle edition and my only concern about that is that it was difficult to read some of the diagrams. I found myself copying them into a notebook for quick reference. I am fairly certain that I will also purchase a hard copy of the book because it is a book that I think would be worth owning in hard form. I have recommended it to several other people and can easily imagine reading this book multiple times. The principles apply all across the spectrum of human relationships and situations.
I love books written in story form that teach and change the way we look at the world. This is such a book. I love that you got to experience the change of heart of each person in the story and that your own heart is changed. I am trying to change the way I feel about myself and others and too look at everyone with love. I have a long road but I really feel this book has helped open a door. My absolute favorite quote from the book is " Acts of self -betrayal such as those I've mentioned are so common they are almost ho-hum. But when we dig a little deeper, we discover something fascinating about self-betrayal". He looked around at the group." A choice to betray myself". he said "is a choice to go to war". I have learned that my heart has been at war for a long time, with myself mostly so it reaches out to all around me. It stops us from seeing people as human and they become objects or other negative things. I like to remind myself that everyone is my bother or sister and we are all connected. Would I yell at my brother if I didn't get my way at a restaurant, I wouldn't, but if you look at that waiter as an object not giving you what you want you might yell. Not because you are a jerk but because your heart is at war and you don't know another way. I loved the justification boxes and will be studying those for a while I don't want to fall back into those boxes. This was an awesome book and now I add to my prayers that my heart be a heart of peace not war. If you liked this book you might like Zero Limits and Remembering Wholeness and You can Heal Your life.

To Return Visiting Cuba after 57 years Jorge Pena 9781798737613 Books Reviews
I expected a decent description of Dr. Pena's excursion to Cuba but was stunned by the wonderful prose, historical details, and occasional irony or dark humor. Personal memories added color without distracting from his focus on the present day trip. The book is highly readable, informative, and thoroughly enjoyable.

Laravel Up Running A Framework for Building Modern PHP Apps Matt Stauffer 9781492041214 Books Reviews
Matt's writing style is approachable for those new to Laravel who need an introduction to the popular PHP framework. It's also great for programmers that have used Laravel for years and want a reference guide or to go more in depth on a specific topic.
I read the first version a couple of years ago when I was new to using Laravel and this updated and expanded version is still helpful for me now. Chapter 14 on Testing is worth the price of the book by itself. I personally don't use Queues and Events very often in my applications and found chapter 16 a great explanation for me to understand how to best implement them into my projects. One of the great things about Laravel is that it has solid documentation online, but I found this book even more helpful to better grasp certain concepts due to the longer format and examples Matt uses. The blocks of code also show up well in .
I highly recommend if you're interested in Laravel.
